Our Story

Humanly speaking, B.A.C., or Crisis Management as originally named, was born on Sunday, September 17, 1972. The founder of B.A.C., Jack R. Bier, and others were made aware of a major crisis in their home church. In the course of working through this crisis while serving as the Bible School Superintendent and a Deacon, God prepared his heart for some kind of full time ministry.

The Lord's direction became more and more clear as the crisis was resolved and his four year term as Bible School Superintendent was drawing to a close. In February 1974, the Lord's direction became very clear and specific as both husband and wife felt the call of God in their life. That same month, Bob Trout, a missionary friend, called and suggested that a position as business manager of a Christian college might be offered to Jack. However, that possibility did not work out after preliminary exploration. But since this college offer had come unsolicited, the Biers felt that God was moving and it would only be a matter of time before His direction would be known.

In 1974, Jack began to search the Sword of the Lord want-ads for Christian School positions. One advertisement for a church business manager, whose church had a serious financial crisis, caught his eye. He called and offered to go to the church at his own expense to see if he could help them. In April of that year, he accepted the call to go to Memphis, TN to attempt to save this large ministry. The family later moved to Tennessee in July 1974. Within 18 months, Jack's ministry of "helps" expanded to three additional churches.

The Biers moved back to New Jersey in late December 1977. The ministry was small, but still expanding. The majority of the work was done by Jack and one secretary. Then in October 1979, Jack was put in contact with Dr. George Riddell, a pastor of a church in New Jersey, whose ministry needed B.A.C.'s services. Due to Dr. Riddell's connections and recommendations, the ministry rapidly expanded adding many churches to B.A.C.'s regular day to day clientele.

Currently, there 75 churches located from Maine to California who are using B.A.C.'s "Doing the Books" services. In addition, B.A.C. performs a number of Reviews throughout the year for churches and schools across the country. In over 50 years of ministry, B.A.C. has served hundreds of churches across the country all for the glory of God.

From the beginning, the staff of B.A.C. has included Jack's sons and family. Please see the Staff page for more details on all our current staff.

"Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

II Corinthians 1:4 (ESV)

This has been the corporate "life verse" for B.A.C. and truly God has been faithful in supplying the comfort. B.A.C. is an acronym for "Born Again Christian". Throughout B.A.C.'s 50 year history, Christ has been at the center and He will remain at the center until He returns.

"He who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming quickly.' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!"

Revelation 22:20 (ESV)
